Top 5 Communication Apps on Android in Ukraine: Q2 2021 Performance

During the second quarter of 2021, the leading communication apps on the Android platform in Ukraine showed varied trends in downloads, revenue, and active users.

Getcontact from Getverify LDA saw its weekly downloads fluctuate, reaching a peak of approximately 79K in the last week of June. The app's weekly revenue, however, showed a slight decline, starting at around $2.4K at the end of March and ending at about $1.7K by the end of the quarter. Meanwhile, Getcontact's active users increased steadily, peaking at approximately 1.5M in mid-June before tapering off to 1.4M.

Telegram maintained a consistent number of weekly downloads, with a high of about 66.7K in the final week of June. The app's active user base remained relatively stable, oscillating around 9M throughout the quarter.

For WhatsApp Messenger, weekly downloads experienced a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching up to 42K in the last week of June. Its active user numbers remained fairly constant, hovering around 1.2M.

Rakuten Viber Messenger by Viber Media saw its weekly revenue peak at approximately $1.2K in early June. Weekly downloads varied, with a notable increase to about 39K in the first week of June. The app's active user numbers showed a slight decline, ending the quarter with approximately 9.9M users.

Lastly, My Kyivstar: mobile services demonstrated significant growth in weekly downloads, peaking at 56.6K in early June. Its active user base also grew, reaching approximately 1.1M by the end of June.
